About us
South East Europe TV Exchanges |
| |
SEETV
is an initiative of various TV journalists working for South
Eastern European media. The aim is to work in pool in order
to jointly provide TV newsrooms in South East Europe, and
in the Balkans in particular, with a new source of news footage
and feature stories. The news footage provided by SEETV is
mainly focussed on the European integration process of South
Eastern Europe. SEETV also offers a platform for TV journalists
from South Eastern Europe to collaborate on joint feature
stories, on subjects of interest to the Southeastern European
public at large. Being based in Brussels, SEETV aims to develop
a TV agency service for broadcasters in the Balkans, which
don’t have TV correspondents in Brussels at the moment. SEETV
covers all major events linked to the Balkan region happening
in Brussels.
These stories and newspackages are made available to all interested
broadcasters and TV newsrooms in South East Europe, free of
copyrights, through the Europe
by Satellite system.

 |
What kind of material
will broadcasters receive?
|
| |
Every
Friday evening, SEETV transmits news footage and/or
feature stories by satellite in the South East Europe
TV Exchanges slot, on Europe by Satellite. The weekly
feed allows TV newsrooms in the region to open a fixed
weekly "European" and "regional"
window in their news programmes.
The topics of the newspackages and the feature stories
offered by SEETV are announced on the home page of
this web site every week. The shotlists and transcripts
of the footage, interviews and features are also posted
on this web site in the section “available feature
stories” or “available newspackages”. |
|
 |
 |
In which format
will the stories be transmitted, to avoid language problems?
|
| |
The news and feature stories are transmitted
in international version, and are accompanied by a detailed
shotlist including a proposed commentary in English
(to allow subsequent translation and voice over by journalists
who will be using the features). Translations of interviews
are provided in English and are integrated into the
shotlist, posted on this web site on the day of the
transmission. |
 |
When DID it start?
|
| |
The new slot on EBS
was inaugurated on Friday January 10, 2003 at 21.30
CET.
It runs every Friday at 20.30 CET, with usually
a retransmission on the next Saturday morning at
9.30
CET. |
