Enlargement must be pursued

Western Balkans should not be treated as «a scapegoat » and suffer the consequences of an economic crisis for which they are not responsible, declares EU Commissioner Olli Rehn. He reaffirms the need to pursue the enlargement process, despite the recent steps back taken by some Member States. He also highlights that the accession of Western Balkan countries reflects «the enlightened interest of the Union» and is part of its consolidation.
