After 16 years of existence and its planned closing down, the time has come for the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia to reflect upon its legacy, its achievements but also what remains to be done to ensure the continuation and sustainability of its work. For ICTY President, Judge Patrick Robinson, the Tribunal has "convicted the guilty and acquitted the innocent" and "this demonstration of justice" is a major contribution to peace and stability in the region, although many issues remain prending, such as the arrest of Mladic and Hadzic.
