Commission calls for Smoke Free Europe by 2012
The European Commission adopted today, after extensive consultation, a proposal for a Council Recommendation calling on all Member States to bring in laws to prevent their citizens from exposure to tobacco smoke by 2012 in the entire EU. EU Health Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou believes candidate and future candidate countries in the Western Balkans should already start implementing a more restrictive banning. |
