The Climate and Energy package

The International Climate Conference will open in Copenhagen in December 2009. The aim of the negotiations is to give fresh impetus to the process launched in Kyoto over a decade ago. The European Union intends to play a key role at the conference and to make sure an agreement is concluded by all the industrialised nations for a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020.
