History teaching in the Balkans

History is hardly an objective subject as a read in the textbooks from various Balkan countries can confirm. An earlier research on Balkan textbooks has shown discrepancies even of dates. Differences in history teaching can become dangerous if used to fuel conflicts and divisions. A group of history professors from eleven Balkan countries has been brought together by the CDRSEE (Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in South East Europe) to offer a new, fresh look at the history of the Balkans.

Duration: 9:19'
Versions available: English commentary and International version
Interviews: Pr. Christina Koulouri, Coordinator of the Joint History Project, Pr. Dubravka Stojanovic, Editor of the Serbian language Edition, Secondary school history teachers from Serbia and Kosovo, students from Mitrovica and Belgrade schools.
