RCC Board Meeting

Secretary General Hido Biscevic will present his regular report on RCC Secretariat’s activities in the September-December period, as well as inform of the activities planned in the forthcoming quarter. The Board will also discuss further strategic prioritization of activities of the organization and decide on authorizing the Secretary General to sign Memoranda of Understanding between the RCC Secretariat and the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group of the South-Eastern Europe, the European Training Foundation and the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe.

Regional meeting of the Secretaries General of South East Europe parliaments

Organized by OSCE Presence in Albania in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Montenegro. The regional meeting, which is supported by the Mission to Serbia, will gather Secretaries General and heads of parliamentary IT services to discuss topics related to e-parliament practices.

General Affairs and External Relations Council

The Council will discuss the situation in the Western Balkans, in particular Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion will focus on the mandate and future of the EU's operation in BiH, EUFOR Althea. The Council is expected to adopt conclusions on this issue. Press Conference 13:00-13:30

A New Era in the Balkans

Annual high-level European Policy Summit - The 10th in Friends of Europe's series on the Balkans - is co-organised by Friends of Europe, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute and the OECD Investment Compact for South East Europe. It will bring together senior officials from Balkan national governments, the Commission's DG Enlargement, the European Parliament and civil society to discuss pressing issues in the arenas of Balkan accession and economic reality. 9:00-17:30.

Overcoming the economic crisis – from regional cooperation to EU membership

Conference organized by the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, in cooperation with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The event will focus on the financial situation in South East Europe and the challenges ahead. It will discuss the importance of regional cooperation in overcoming the economic crisis. The conference will be hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Carl Bildt, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs from thirteen countries in the region, along with representatives of Spain, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden (as EU Presidency) and Brazil, will meet to agree on a Regional Strategy on Intercultural Dialogue in the fields of education, media and youth, aimed at fostering intercultural understanding in the region at the UN Alliance of Civilizations’ first South East European Regional Conference.
