General Affairs and External Relations Council
The Council will discuss the situation in the Western Balkans, in particular Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion will focus on the mandate and future of the EU's operation in BiH, EUFOR Althea. The Council is expected to adopt conclusions on this issue. Press Conference 13:00-13:30 on 8/12.

Annual high-level European Policy Summit - The 10th in Friends of Europe's series on the Balkans - is co-organised by Friends of Europe, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute and the OECD Investment Compact for South East Europe. Conference organized by the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, in cooperation with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The event will focus on the financial situation in South East Europe and the challenges ahead. It will discuss the importance of regional cooperation in overcoming the economic crisis. The conference will be hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Carl Bildt, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn.
