Policy Dialogue - Dealing with the past: justice and reconciliation in the Western Balkans. Communities and societies across the Western Balkans still need to face up to the unresolved legacies of the wars. To that end, a major pan-regional initiative – the Coalition for RECOM – seeking to establish a truth-telling commission has been gaining ground and international support over the past years. Conference - Speak Up! Conference on Freedom of Expression and Media in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The European Commission's latest annual strategy on EU enlargement, adopted in November, highlighted in particular freedom of expression and media as one of the most important remaining challenges facing enlargement countries. In the past few months, freedom of expression has become all the more topical, with several new incidents reported. Opening and closing addresses by Michael Leigh, Director General for Enlargement. Roundtable: Fundraising Activities for the International Sava River Basin Commission Projects.
